Operation Homecoming 2

Operation Homecoming 2

No Veteran Left Behind

Veteran homelessness is a crisis we can no longer ignore. In Florida, there are currently over 3000 heroes with no safe and secure place to sleep. The streets they swore to protect now serve as their only shelter. Basic needs like food and shelter should not be out of reach for veterans; it is a moral failure on the part of Americans that the men and women who gave their all to protect our liberties are homeless, hungry and without hope.

I have a vision to provide veterans with not only needed shelter, but dignity, healing and purpose. A community specifically designed for veterans and their families would offer housing, training, counseling and would restore a sense of pride and belonging.

My vision is to build a 100-home community located within reach of a VA hospital. The proximity would ensure immediate access to physical and mental healthcare, therapy and rehabilitation.

Residents of this community would have:

  • Dignified housing: Private, single-story pre-fabricated homes. No barracks or bunks .. but true homes for families
  • Health and holistic support: In addition to available hospital care, on-site counseling sessions to offer additional support for issues facing veterans
  • Community life: A hub featuring a cafeteria, a community center, an on-site barber, salon and vocational training center to help prepare veterans for new career challenges

Veterans would not just be housed, they would be empowered to improve their lives.
